John and Louise Spargo have transformed  a former travel agency into a shop so nautical you can almost feel the floorboards rock beneath you.  The Spargos both have a background in interiors - Louise was a furniture  consultant at Harrods, John was a restaurant designer - and both have a passion for Cornwall.  So this shop was the perfect answer to two untimely redundancies in London.

ABOUT US

A propeller props open the door and old anchors, rudders and ores rest against the walls.

The walls themselves are covered in knot boards, lifebelt mirrors made from plaster and rope, batik fish pictures and limited edition prints of pebble beaches.  The painted hull of an old boat tipped up on its end makes a striking display case for ceramic waves and matching pots by local artist Nicole Smith.

Wooden bedroom furniture from children can be made to order and includes beds and toy-boxes.  For boat owners, hand-illustrated former ammunition boxes and sea chests can be commissioned, painted with designs based on photographs of their own craft.
